Renault to Supply Paris with Electric Vehicles for Carsharing
Auto Rental

Groupe Renault is set to supply the City of Paris and outlying neighborhoods with 2,000 electric vehicles for a city-wide carsharing program, the electric car manufacturer announced.

Beginning in September, Renault will gradually roll out the commercial fleet, which will include the ZOE, Twizy, Kangoo Z.E., and Master Z.E. models. Renault expects to have all vehicles in service by 2019.

As part of the agreement, city officials and Renault will form a working group with other major cities and companies to reimagine mobility offerings in the city.

“This will make it possible to offer Parisians and Ile-de-France residents a healthier, less polluted living environment, where everyone can move more easily,” Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said in a statement. “This constructive agreement is also an opportunity to promote major technological and industrial advances, which contribute to the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement and create sustainable jobs and activities."

The partnership will help Renault further develop connected and autonomous electric vehicles.
